Ok this whole brooding started from this stupid Final Fantasy character called “Fang”
I was just reading someone’s blog and I saw this picture. And my my what brainless idiots decided to make themselves know behind their pathetic id names that Indian don’t even come close to the word beautiful. Although I’ve never played Final Fantasy but I’ve tried watching the movie but to be completely honest all the characters have eerier look to them and they all have the same tried mark, pale as a ghost, huge weapons and girls who always can’t seems to find better cloths while guys wear ridiculous about of clothing. But hey they are all still good designs and famous for it. And I don’t condemn any graphic and multimedia designers (being one actually) for ability to create their successful “ FF cyber” world for gamers.
So I was very annoyed when I saw that picture and what people commented on that.
I mean yeah the blue cloth does look like sari if you really squint your eyes.
From what I read it seems she has tan skin, Australian accent and Chinese name, and her weapon represents tribal heritage. So I dunno why people say she looks Indian, I did a close up on her and was very very annoyed that they compare her to Aishwarya Rai.
I mean hello what is the best features of an Indian women? DUH always her big eyes, does Fang have big eyes ? NO And I think she is only ½ tan but mostly she looks pale just like the rest of other character. I’m not trying to say the person who designed her was an idiot but I don’t think he was thinking Indian when he design this, I love good design and I think this girl is smoking hot !! But why do you have to have the need to say other race is not beautiful or use racial slurs just coz you want to defend your favorite FF character!! This shows how stupid you really are !!!
She is an animated character for god sake!! and comparing her with real existing people and defending brainlessly for something that does not have feeling yet alone not even “alive” is very brainless indeed, Yes everyone are entitled to their own opinion but why make a big such a big deal over it. Obviously the overly defensive people love Fang and I don’t think they like Indians much (or anything real), but what right have you got to pull racial slurs of that race just so you could get a piece of mind !!!
While I was reading the forum (a link from the blog) I was shocked how people say Indians are not good looking people. I mean every country/race in the bloody planet have its ups and downs, true that not all Indians looks like Aishwarya Rai, but I could say the same for all race too. I mean even in western and oriental countries actress/actor are very good looking but can you say the people all looks like that in general ? No you can’t.
Another thing I hate about people out there is that if they want to say Indian are pretty they’re quick to link up Aishwarya Rai and other famous Bollywood actress, there is a difference between the way Bollywood portrays women and the way they actually look or are. Again I’m not saying that common people look bad but what I’m trying to say is that they are NOT the ONLY Indian around. I could say the same for westerners do everyone one looks as good as Nickole Kidman and Hally Barry. NO they don’t.
What hurts the most when I read the forum was there about 70% of them think Indians and dark skin people are not attractive, Well here’s what I have to say to them “FUCK YOU !!!” Well the world do not orbit around you dumbfucks !!!
I admit, people sometimes ask me if I’m mix either by the many Indians or of some other race. And when I say no, they say “really but you don’t look like many Indians” *smug smile* like I’m suppose to feel honored that I look like someone else. Oh yeah the conversation usually leads to me tell them off with a deadly glare of course.
I remember back when I was at school, my mom was waiting outside and she was talking to a Chinese lady, and when I came up she said my mom if I was her daughter. But when my sister came she was shocked, had the nerve to ask my mom if she was adopted. Oh yeah it pissed of both me and my sister. My mother on the other hand just calmly asked the lady if she is a foreigner, when she said she is a Malaysian my mon told her “oh sudah berapa lama tinggal sini you masih tak tau ka, org India ada byk color ah ? kita bukan macam you lah semua sama saja” – “oh how long have you lived here and you still have no idea that Indians come in many skin tone, we are not like you, you all look the same” and that my friend, shut the lady up.
So yeah in conclusion there are idiots out there and it’s up to you to keep a straight logical head and not get pulled into it.
And I think Fang is a good design and a real hottie but she is not Aishwarya Rai, she is …well Fang of Final Fantasy. Aishwarya Rai is Aishwarya Rai, she is an Indian but not the only beautiful Indian on earth.
I know I kind sound like I’m making a big fuss, but I’m only stating the truth and for those Indians out there who just read something hurtful can (if at all) sees this post would feel better reading it. I hope I didn’t offend anyone because it was not my intention.
